Job Description

All life’s hassles, handled!

Queen of To Do offers personal assistant and household management services in Central Texas, including general tidying and housekeeping, errands (returns, purchases, going to the post office, etc.), and so much more! We help clients who are busy pursuing professional careers, after divorces, sudden losses, other unexpected life events, or when they just need help to get back on track.

We need efficient, organized, resourceful people to help our clients reorganize their homes, run their errands, catch up on laundry, run the dishwasher, research and oversee service providers, and so much more. Our employees get to work with clients who are excited to see them and to help with a wide variety of tasks in homes all over the Austin area! We help make clients’ lives less stressful and help manage their homes and lives.

We are hiring for a flexible part-to-full-time position at this time.

Characteristics we are looking for:

You must be a positive person who is open-minded and open to feedback. Our team is fantastic and growing together. We do not do well with gossip, negative attitudes, making excuses, or the inability to work in a team. QoTD has a supportive, unified culture, and fitting into this culture is the primary job requirement.

We need people who are not afraid of computers or learning new things that will make their jobs easier. You must be proficient with Google Drive, and be willing to master applications/new software. We use these to communicate internally and with clients, so a strong internet connection, laptop, and smartphone is needed as well.

We need high energy and enthusiasm for the work we do (and life in general). You must be able to work rapidly and be flexible to clients’ needs. You must be able to think on your feet and make quick and smart decisions on your own. Knowing when to ask clients or managers for input or help is important to build successful ongoing relationships.

You also need to be detail-oriented. We help a lot of people. Completing tasks accurately and efficiently is far more critical than rushing through as many tasks as possible during a shift. Working fast is no excuse for careless mistakes. No one’s life should be negatively impacted because our company made an avoidable error or oversight.

You must be willing to ensure the job is done right the first time. Clients’ time is valuable and we don’t want to have to redo tasks because of preventable mistakes. In our company, getting it done right the first time for our clients is very important and we require everyone to work with this goal in mind.

You need to have strong written and verbal communication skills. You should have an employment history that is related to this position, but that is for you to define. Our diverse team comes from many backgrounds including academia, the service industry, project management, the music industry, and childcare, just to name a few. Diverse backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to apply! The skills to be successful at this position can come from a myriad of backgrounds.

You must, must, must have emotional intelligence and empathy. You must have compassion for our clients and for humankind. You cannot be someone who does not take criticism well or cannot deal well with people. Some of our clients have bad days and do not always make choices like you would. We do not tolerate disrespect from clients but understand they are often going through a difficult time in their lives and have rough days. In the same vein we understand our employees are human and have off days. We support each other through these times with grace and kindness. We strongly encourage mental health days when needed and care about our employees’ well-being and success.

If you have gotten this far and are thinking about applying, it means that you are ready for a challenge and want to be part of a team that helps people and rewards good work. Please attach a cover letter explaining your interest in the position and why you consider yourself a good fit.

QoTD has clients throughout the greater Austin area and we do not have a central office. After training, you may work independently anywhere in the area so reliable transportation and comfortability with differing commutes is important.QoTD pays for up to $200/month worth of gas and four oil changes/year!Hours are typically 9a-5p, although after training you'll set your own schedule with input from your clients and management team.
