CommQuest Services, Inc. seeks a Peer Support Specialist for our men's residential facility, Wilson Hall, in Massillon to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. You will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.

CommQuest Services is one of the largest non-profit mental health, addiction recovery, and social services organizations in Northeast Ohio, working with clients from more than 34 counties in 12 facilities through more than 20 programs. We help people make positive changes in their lives through in-patient, outpatient and school-based programs, along with supportive services - from basic needs to employment assistance.

What You'll Do


  • All other duties as assigned
  • Mentor clients by reassuring them the reality of recovery, assisting with increasing personal empowerment, helping them set and achieve goals
  • Provide recovery education for every phase of recovery and work with clients in different settings (hospitals, residential settings, jail, office-based community settings, and client's home.)
  • Identify and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self-help groups, professional services, etc.)
  • Conduct discharge and intake surveys, monitoring peer satisfaction

Minimum Qualifications


  • Must have lived experience of mental health and/or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder and have knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system
  • Must have a valid driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and a good driving record
  • Must satisfy state requirements for Certified Peer Recovery Supporter within 90 days of employment which includes being registered through OhioMHAS as a Certified Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
