We have an exciting opportunity to have On-The-Job training with our Aviation team!
In this position you will conduct aerial patrol/inspection of company transmission pipelines to ensure pipeline security under the direct supervision of a current Enbridge Patrol Pilot. This is a 12-month temporary position that will give you the opportunity to learn aircraft maintenance and company maintenance programs. Come join our Aviation Services Team today!
Here’s what you will do:
  • Train on the practice of accurate records of routine aircraft expenses, as well as, travel and lodging costs with company credit cards.
  • Participate in all training and recurrent training as specified in the Company Flight Operations Manual.
  • Establish communication with area and division pipeline supervisors and personnel.
  • Participate in and comply with all current Company Safety Management System practices to maintain the highest degree of safety for all Enbridge employees and assets affected.
  • Train from a base airport and spend approximately 20 hours per week flying low altitude pipeline patrol.
  • Assess pipeline condition in strict accordance with Trouble Report Guidelines.
  • Observe the maintenance and submission of accurate and timely reports of pipeline conditions.
  • Complete assigned administrative duties such as dispatch, record-keeping, revisions, aircraft data base updating, manual development, updating Company programs or directives, commissary purchasing, phone or email responses, etc.
  • Assist Enbridge Operations with regards to aerial pipeline surveillance. This may include but is not limited to aerial pipeline patrols, pipeline maintenance activities such as line fills, construction activity, new pipeline development, the transportation of Company personnel to work locations as required, and any other related flying requested by Enbridge in support of operations.
  • Be familiar with and ensure that the Company aircraft is operated in compliance with all regulations as required for flights conducted. This may include but is not limited to Transport Canada, FAA, CBAA and all Canadian and U.S. Customs policies and procedures for which trips are to be conducted.
  • Maintain pilot training records as found in the Enbridge Personal Pilot Training.
Who you are:
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating.
  • Ability to work effectively with computer applications and programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, FlightPak, and pipeline activity reporting software etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively with others in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • No previous personal or work history that would preclude transborder operations.
  • Minimum of 600 hours logged as Pilot in Command with at least 100 hours in Category and Class to include a minimum of 20 flight hours in make and/or model. Minimum flight hours may be waived with experience in low level flight operations.
  • Ability and willingness to assume responsibility and work unsupervised as job requirements dictate.
  • Must maintain a valid Class One aviation medical.
  • Detail orientated with a focus on accuracy.
  • Employee that is engaged, energetic and a self-starter who wants to be a contributing member of a dynamic and dedicated corporate flight department.
  • Recent experience in aerial patrol operations or in related commercial flying.
  • Able to work in the United States as per Federal, and State requirements and regulations.
Preferred:
  • Bachelors or Associates degree/some college or experience relative to responsibilities.
  • Certified Flight Instructors Instrument license.
  • Certified Flight Instructors license.
Working Conditions:
  • Operations conducted in Day Visual Flight Rules.
  • Up to 9 flight hours per day and 30 flight hours per week at low altitude with some turbulence, as well as varying conditions of weather and visibility. Vigilant concentration on pipeline right-of-way in addition to maintaining close visual attention to ground obstacles and other aircraft, as well as radio communication with ground station.
Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
