Role & Responsibilities:


The Patient Assistance Liaison investigates, resolves, documents and reports patient and visitor compliments and concerns to leadership and staff. This individual participates in the development and implementation of customer service and patient relations initiatives related to his/her assigned department. Provides monthly accountability and analysis of customer service outcomes to department management.


Responsibilities


  • In a non-patient area handles daily over 100 over the phone interactions in a fast paced Information Retention and Benefits Center
  • May perform additional tasks
  • Schedules different types of appointments at four different locations
  • Conducts interviews with callers seeking occupational medicine services, makes an initial assessment of work relatedness and offers appropriate service
  • Primary contact for callers inquiries about the practice services, welcomes and introduces new patients to the practice, collects and provides information to other callers; like employers, lawyers, internal and external health care providers
  • Primary involved in patient retention, actively reaches out to the patients to offer health care services and appointments at the Mount Sinai World Trade Center Health Program Clinical Center of Excellence
  • Triages calls and connects patients with the appropriate party
  • Follows all HIPAA and any other governmental or state agency requirements regarding the appropriate handling of PHI documents


Qualifications


  • Minimum one year call center related experience (high call volume environment)
  • Patient-based customer service and soft skills
  • Experience with patient outreach and retention preferred. Experience in initiating contact with the customer to offer services or products
  • Bilingual English / Spanish
  • Ability to work, complete task, meet targets and manage work time independently
  • Strong computer skills. Will work simultaneously with different applications
  • High School graduate/GED
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Compensation


The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $23.0137 - $27.1283 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
