The Division of Student Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington serves all 43,000 undergraduate and graduate students. We are a team of 500+ faculty, staff, and students within 18 departments and programs located across campus working toward the common goal of student success. The Student Involvement and Leadership Center (SILC) is located at 3 prominent locations on campus the Indiana Memorial Union, Eigenmann Hall (IU Outdoor Adventures), and Campus View Apartments (Crimson Cupboard). SILC staff work to foster growth and learning among students and student organizations by supporting inclusive and engaging experiences through the creation and execution of co-curricular programs and services.

Job Summary
The Student Involvement and Leadership Center Office Assistant position provides vital front desk and administrative support for the SILC team. They are often the first impression a student, staff, alumni or community member has of our office.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Relies on this position to do various research projects as well as other office tasks as assigned.
- Helps assist with creating event descriptions, day of event execution.
- Answers phone calls, oversees departmental email account, handles all tower office requests including keys, and coordinates the delivery of all mail to the department and student organizations.
- Assists with office projects that can include helping gather data.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 1 year experience working in a customer service role
Preferred
- Office Experience
SKILLS
Required
- Detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately
- Outstanding organization skills
Preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of IU systems and policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills using a variety of mediums
