Position Description – Temporary Part-Time Human Resources Assistant
Reports to: Human Resources Generalist/Manager
Position Objectives
The Human Resources Assistant provides on-site administrative support for HR functions, as well as clerical assistance.
Job Duties
- All other duties as assigned.
- Assists site managers with safety and training reports, uploads safety documents, and completes DOT file maintenance.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation by scanning and uploading documents to the HRIS system.
- Completes employment verifications for DOT and non-DOT employees.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Assists with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations as needed.
- Assists with administrative functions, including but not limited to, answering phones, ordering supplies, distributing mail, ordering uniforms, and issuing ID badges.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
