Job Description
Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties

Helps maintain the Mount Hood Community College Dental Clinic for instruction and community service.

Essential Duties

  • Sterilizes equipment and surfaces.
  • Tests equipment following standard operating procedures.
  • Stocks, organizes, and cleans operatories.
  • Maintains a lab culture that is inclusive and welcoming, with conscious attention to the needs of racially minoritized, low-income, and first-generation college students.

Additional Duties
  • Assists in the development of outreach materials.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Represents the Dental Hygiene program at public events.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum (1) year of college level education in a dental assistant or healthcare program

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a year for year basis

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a dental clinic
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
  • Familiarity with the operations and technologies of a dental clinic.

Additional Qualifications and/or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Ability to use standard office and productivity software.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for communicating effectively with racially minoritized, low-income and first-generation college students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to learn and use new software and hardware.

Work is typically performed in the dental clinic. Includes standing, walking, bending, and lifting of objects up to 30 lbs.Important Information.
