Position Description

The Department of Neurobiology seeks a Program Coordinator to support outreach and community programming for the Departmental Committees on Diversity and Inclusion (DCDI). The goal of DCDI is to promote principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Department through dedicated community programming and project management of various outreach programs that serve trainees and faculty. Activities include program management of two existing, funded programs that promote the training of underrepresented scholars in neuroscience, new faculty programs that promote the success of new Principal Investigators, postdoctoral fellows mentorship programs, lead new programming for Research Assistants, managing an annual departmental climate survey, and the development and launch of new programs. Reporting to the Director of Research, the DEI Program Coordinator will ensure the success and continued progress of concrete projects that are aimed at promoting essential DEI values.

Job responsibilities include coordination of multiple parallel programs, including scheduling and booking rooms, providing centralized support to program directors as they lay out their annual curricula/programming, deploying and collecting survey data, maintaining records of program participant enrollment and longitudinal outcomes, being on site for day-of logistics, including ordering food and ensuring timeliness of events.

Basic Qualifications

3+ or more years of experience. Higher education may count toward experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to look ahead to future programs, and be able to plan and coordinate multiple programs simultaneously.

Additional Information

Please also note this is a part-time, 20 hours (.5 FTE) per week position.
This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.
This position is based in Boston and some in-person on-campus work will be required, and flexible/remote work is an option. Any remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered to do business (CA*, CT, GA, IL, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, VT, and WA). Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process. *Note: Harvard employees working in California must be exempt.
