Part Time Graphic Designer

We are looking for a part time freelance graphic designer to assist our growing team on our mission of becoming the #1 Probiotic Supplement Company in the US. This person will be responsible for supporting the current design team with creating new product designs, managing a library of existing packaging artwork and related assets, and preparing all artwork for print. This person will report to the Graphic Design Manager.

The ideal candidate has strong typographic and layout skills; strict attention to detail; and outstanding organizational, project management, file-organization and archiving skills are a must.

What You’ll Do:

• Support retail sales team with new product mockups for presentations
• Exhibit a pixel-perfect attention to detail - looking after every point, font, space, and color to make sure that it adds value and delight to the customer's experience
• Prepare packaging files for print
• Approximately 5-10 hours a week
• Collaborate with Brand and Marketing teams to create packaging and print pieces for new products and retail store displays
• Provide support for packaging photo/video shoots by helping prepare briefs, source props, and communicate with the studio or contractor
• Manage a library of new and existing packaging artwork for a 20+ products portfolio, ensuring all asset versions are easily accessible to those who need them
• Assist with shared team responsibility of keeping all assets organized and up to date
• Work with our Supply Chain and Product Development teams to ensure packaging files are delivered on time, kept up to date, version controlled, and meet all necessary requirements including FDA Dietary Supplements regulations
• Work with outside vendors to manage packaging print process, act as point-of-contact for any artwork-related print issues
• Center designs around the consumer: identifying who will use our product, what they will use it for, and what value they will gain
• As needed, share workload with the rest of the creative team to support multiple channels through creating both original and templated graphics for product launches, emails, ads, marketing campaigns, and other design needs.
• Design coupons, stickers, and shipping inserts
• Review and approve color refinements, drawdowns, and press proofs for packaging, while keeping detailed records of all approvals and assets received from printers

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or a related field preferred
• A self-directed person who knows what needs to be done and operates with urgency, focus, and discipline
• A penchant for process and ability to craft SOPs and guidelines for creative work
• Team player who can build strong relationships within all levels of the organization
• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal
• 3-5 years of experience in a Graphic Design role
• Familiarity with Figma, Blender, Adobe Dimension
• Solid understanding of the pre-press and printing processes
• Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates mastery of layout, image selection, and typography in a clean and modern style. Packaging experience preferred.
• Experience with photography, social media video, video editing, Adobe Premiere, or Adobe After Effects is a plus.
• Experience designing for food brands, consumer products, packaging, or food packaging is a strong plus
