Packer Operator

PACKAGING OPERATOR

SHIFT: 3rd (11:00pm to 7am)

PAY: Starting at $24.40/Hr, up to $25.90/Hr within 6 months based on progression in the position. Plus $1 shift differential

$1000 sign on bonus: $500 Paid at 30 days, $500 Paid at 6 months

Benefits: 120 Hours PTO (Paid Time Off) pro-rated the 1st year, time available based on seniority. Plus 10 paid holidays.

The Production Operator

  • Moving, packing, weighing, and sorting raw materials or finished goods
  • Monitoring and acting on quality of output to identify, prevent reoccurrence, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products
  • Monitors machine parameters and troubleshoots processing problems.
  • Operating machinery, hand tools, chemical set-up, assembly, and/or packaging equipment to manufacture products according to safety, production specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage targets, efficiency, and quality standards
  • Focuses on setting up, operating, maintaining, cleaning and troubleshooting manufacturing production equipment (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging)
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintaining accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis and examines production materials for processing.

This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Basic computer skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Time Management: Showing up on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, and adapting to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision

  • Safety: Ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one’s co-workers at all times without exception
  • Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Age: 18 years or older
  • Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

Physical Requirements for production positions regularly include:

  • Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present
  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
  • Shift schedules that include days, nights, and weekends, some holidays and periodic overtime
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
