Job Summary:
To provide technical and directive leadership to packaging personnel. To lead by example. To assist in developing and maintaining a strong training base throughout the packaging department. To achieve optimum safety, sanitation, quality and packaging standards though proper and consistent use of all available resources at all times.
Shift: 3:15pm to 1:45am Monday through Thursday; Overtime as required on Friday and Saturdays
$27.06 per hour plus a $0.55 shift differenti
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists line personnel to minimize/decrease waste and downtime between and during runs.
  • This is a general outline of the job description and may be revised at any time to support the requirements of the position as determined by B&G Foods.
  • Works with packaging personnel of all classifications to ensure correct and timely completion of packaging documentation. This includes but is not limited to all documentation that may be a necessary function of the department.
  • Helps to maintain effective, positive communication within the packaging department and other areas.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the process text.
  • Supports packaging department as needed to ensure maximum safety, sani0tation, product quality and productivity.
  • Working foremen may be, at any time, required to fill in for absences for either packaging personnel or supervision, but only under guidelines provided by the Union Contract.
  • Drives the yard tractor to assist in the moving of trailers/tankers into position at dock doors.
  • Drives Autonomous Maintenance program for packaging department across East, West, and Dry Sauce Rooms
  • Directs the workforce with the guidance of operations management.
  • Confronts daily packaging issues in a positive, constructive and cooperative manner.
  • Implements, coordinates, maintains and increases training and/or skill level of packaging employees using all available resources. This includes but is not limited to; training of new employees, training of existing employees, changeover training, ergonomics, HAACP or sanitation/GMP training.
  • Provides input that contributes to the development of new or existing packaging processes or procedures.
  • Directs the workforce on bottle size changes. This could include but is not limited to, assisting the maintenance personnel as directed by operations management.
  • Any duty assigned by the department supervisor or their designee.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Candidate must have been qualified as a Packaging Line Technician, Material Handler, or Line Operator at one time during their employment with ACH Food Companies, Inc.
  • Candidate must pass selected screening process.
  • Candidate must be able to complete specific training on selected equipment that is pertinent to the assigned production area/s when additional training needs are determined.
  • Candidate must be able to qualify as a Packaging Line Technician and Material Handler in 90 days.
SQF
Responsible for reporting any and all food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Conduct metal detector functionality checks
Responsible for following cGMP’s
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and good housekeeping
Ensure all food safety and quality records are completed accurately and timely
Follow all appropriate equipment cleaning procedure
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This position is in a manufacturing plant environment, works around moving mechanical parts, is exposed to airborne particles, and works around motorized vehicles.
