ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a full-time packaging graphics designer to join our in-house Art Team, working in our midtown Manhattan location. This individual will be working as part of our art/design team and help us develop packaging designs and graphics for a wide variety of housewares, home office, and wall décor items. Please apply with a portfolio displaying select work samples.

• As needed, build packaging mock-ups and illustrations for presentations and approvals.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
• Develops packaging design and production files for a wide variety of housewares and wall décor items in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Works on the graphic layouts of the packaging.
• Creates attractive product lifestyles presenting items in appropriate room settings, following brand guidelines and trends using Photoshop and Lightroom.
• Reviews factory mock-ups, makes necessary adjustments, and approves final packaging samples for production.
• Communicates daily with overseas factories to follow up with the packaging projects, to ensure timely and successful end results.
• Evaluates the feasibility of design ideas and develop packaging solutions that highlight product features and benefits.

COMPETENCIES

• Packaging construction knowledge and ability to develop and adjust deadlines and production technical packages.
• Some packaging material knowledge, and ability to choose the right material(s) for efficient production, optimal footprint, and a good balance between strength, esthetics, and cost efficiency.
• The ability to work on graphics and create presentations is a plus.
• Team player to work in a collaborative environment with other designers and product development teams, reporting to Art Director.
• Fluency in Adobe Creative suite, focusing mainly on Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom. InDesign knowledge is a plus.
• Photoshop skills -to create product lifestyle images, and ability to manipulate product photography for new finishes, colors, or sizes, as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BA/BFA Degree in Graphic Design or Related Field with 2-3 years of Design Experience
