How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Under general supervision, the Outside Sales Support Specialist serves customers by assisting Account Manager and branches with selling products to businesses, industrial and medical establishments, or individuals at sales office, store, showroom or customer’s place of business. Meets customer’s needs and resolves customer’s problems. Candidate must also be able to prioritize multiple tasks with good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

In particular, you will:

• Run metric reports relating to customer negative cylinder balances, perform cylinder audits as customer locations and submit adjustments for cylinder balance corrections.
• Submit PROS requests for pricing corrections on new and existing accounts
• Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing memos/reports, and making recommendations to management.
• Airgas Advantage; submit master data requests, PROS requests, and ebusiness requests. Work with the district manager, the branch, and account managers to win new Airgas Advantage customers. Update the Airgas Advantage tracker.
• Obtains approval from the credit department for new accounts.
• Services existing accounts; review customer cylinder balances, pricing, and open invoices. Work with customers to correct cylinder balances and submit pricing.
• Help the branch monitor hardgood inventory levels, submit stocking levels, and work with the branch to reduce deadstock.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Create quotes for customers
• Back up inside sales when needed

• 2+ years of customer service experience
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Frequent bending. Prolonged standing or sitting. Frequent finger manipulation required for typing, computer and/or calculator.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
• Excellent customer service & communication skills
• Computer proficiency with Word & Excel
• Working experience with SAP and other computer order entry system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Moderate work processing skills including windows.
• Working knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic; office practices and procedures; departmental rules and regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, self-motivated, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized, ability to achieve goals, ability to focus and pay attention detail.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
• Ability to read, speak, write, spell and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical solutions.
