Location: Tucson, AZ

Hours Per Week: Full-time

Start Date: Flexible- but as soon as possible

Description:
Airy Optics is looking for a full-time Optical Engineer to work on the Polaris-M software. Since 2016, Airy Optics Inc. has been upgrading Polaris-M from a research code to a commercially-available product. Written in Mathematica, Polaris-M contains many advanced algorithms for Polarization calculations. More capabilities, and user interface tools, need to be developed and maintained. In addition to developing Polaris-M, Airy Optics uses the software to tackle difficult engineering service questions. Applicants will need to be able to: identify the problem presented by customers, formulate solutions into a Statement of Work, and plan and execute polarization analysis on customer provided optical systems.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience with optical design software
  • Skills in linear algebra and Fourier Analysis
  • Optical Design skills

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Mathematica
    • or another programming language
  • Experience with optimization
  • Or another programming language
  • Experience with Polarization
