ABOUT THE ROLE:


The Operations Supervisor manages and supports the daily duties and responsibilities of the Client Services Team, while also holding the role of a Trinium Super User. The Operations Supervisor produces and manages reports within the Transportation Management System, troubleshoots challenges with staff, clients and vendors. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of GSC’s operations, administrations, and Transportation processes. Must have interactive communications skills, ability to delegate, display confidence, capable of giving employees both positive feedback and constructive criticism, approachable, handles in-office conflict quickly and fairly.


The Operations Supervisor will report to the General Manager – Southeast Region.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.


  • Create and maintain all TMS reports, auto notifications, event management, and executive reporting.
  • Responsible for accurate onsite reports, as well as sending out weekly and daily projections for deliveries.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of CSC / FSC data entry through auditing.
  • Ensure cross training between all CSC / FSC’s.
  • Manage the maintenance of all account SOP’s.
  • Track container availability and update driver activity in real-time.
  • Conduct one-on-one and Team meetings.
  • Give employees feedback on their performance and provide yearly performance reviews.
  • Maintain the data entry of moves into our transportation management system (Trinium).
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, clients, and vendors.
  • Provide problem-solving and troubleshooting for CSC / FSC teams.
  • Understand, document, and able to perform all daily CSC / FSC tasks and duties for all accounts.
  • Perform employee performance reviews, disciplinary actions, time off requests, scheduling work shifts.
  • Support our customer’s unique stock, transportation, and inventory needs.
  • Convey department goals and targets to CSC / FSC Teams.
  • Creating weekly driver pay reports.
  • Daily dispatching of drivers/carriers for prompt pickup and deliveries, making sure deadlines are met.
  • Communicate updates and status reports to upper Management and Executives.
  • Field all incoming calls and deal directly with drivers and clients.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Accurately keystrokes a minimum of 65 wpm.
  • Familiarity with trucking terminology.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in Transportation Management Systems (Trinium preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Knowledge of Container or Port / LTL experience is a major plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Proficient with Excel & Outlook and possess strong PC skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail.
