Our client is a leading family owned wholesale distributor in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (with headquarters in New Jersey) who is looking for their next Sales and Operations Manager to lead their Lancaster facility. They provide industrial customers with an extensive line of products and services since the 1800's! In 1986, our client opened their new facility in Lancaster to serve the needs of a large number of kitchen construction manufacturers (cabinets, counter top fabricators and custom millwork shops) in southeastern Pennsylvania. Since inception the company has grown from a small rented space to 130,000 square feet under roof, with full time employment of over 60 team members.


The Sales & Operations Manager is responsible for growing profitable revenue and the overall operations of the Lancaster facility, including sales, inventory management, distribution, logistics, transportation and safety activities. This position is a part of the Leadership Team and reports directly to the President of the company. It will also have significant interactions with the VP of Finance in executing the President’s vision though administering policies and procedures to meet the company’s goals while maintaining the company's culture.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors.
  • Work with key departments managers to develop performance objectives to meet company goals. Support team through suggesting and driving best practices to correct financial, quality and delivery variances.
  • Develop framework to identify and develop new talent and foster current employee’s strengths, with the goal of creating and maintaining depth in key areas.
  • Maintain a workplace that is safe and values its employees’ contributions.
  • Leads, inspires and maintains a positive working environment for a diverse team consisting of Specification & Sales Representatives, Operations, Customer Service, Warehouse & Drivers.
  • Primary accountability for developing new and maintaining existing large customers
  • Full P&L Leadership/Ownership for the location.
  • Drive growth and demand creation by identifying growth opportunities, targets, projects, and erosion recapture.
  • Maintain customers ISO certification.
  • Growing Sales and Sales Leadership
  • Act swiftly and decisively to mitigate employment issues as they arise in a manner consistent with our client’s culture.


Qualifications


  • Financial management responsibility experience.
  • ONLY LOCAL LANCASTER AREA CANDIDATES AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE US WITHOUT SPONSORSHIP WILL BE CONSIDERED
  • Ability to travel without restriction within the Fessenden Hall territory and nationally to vendors, trade shows, vendor meetings (up to 10%of time).
  • Bachelor’s or advanced
  • Track record of growing revenue through sales activity and slaes leadership
  • Solid Presentation Skills and ability to communicate with all levels of staff, customers and vendors.
  • Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Experience in a Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Transportation or Logistics environment.
  • Competent computer knowledge and skills including Office Suite, with the ability to learn Fessenden Hall Inc’s business system.
  • Wholesale distribution experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ISO guidelines is a plus but not necessary.
