Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Payments Administration, Policy, and Governance, this 2nd Line of Defense role will manage governance for and maintain the overarching enterprise Payments Policy and related Standards (“Policy & Standards”), ensuring the Policy & Standards define clear, up to date expectations and guidelines for the execution of payments-related activities at Key.
This role is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure the Policy & Standards define the foundation for the management of the Key’s payment risk across all payment products and services by defining clear roles and responsibilities, promoting awareness and accountability for payment risk, and driving alignment with the Key values and risk tolerances.
This role will serve as the Secretary of the Payments Risk Committee. The Payments Risk Committee will be a forum led by the Payments Risk Executive, in which various stakeholders meet to facilitate key decisions related to payments activities and business operations across the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in the development of other key policies, standards and procedures related to payments, and assist in the review of and updates to other Key policies, standards and procedures driving alignment with the Policy & Standards.
  • Support other payments risk activities as assigned, providing prompt and clear feedback to stakeholders in alignment with the Policy & Standards.
  • Effectively and professionally interact with management, regulatory agency personnel, internal legal counsel, internal risk review personnel as well as risk/compliance peers.
  • Oversee the timely creation and distribution of communications announcing updates to the Policy and Standards, ensuring the Policy & Standards reflect appropriate expectations and guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Consult with applicable business lines and risk pillars to perform periodic (at least annually) reviews of the Policy & Standards to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in guiding payments activities in alignment with other Key policies (e.g., Operational Risk Policy, Compliance Policy, and Enterprise Risk Management Policy) and regulatory guidance.
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to support review and challenge processes for activities associated with payments products and services.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for Policy & Standards updates, including sections of the Policy & Standards that have become out of date.
  • Collaborate with Compliance teams and related risk pillars as needed to validate that the Policy & Standards address applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to promote adherence the Policy & Standards.
  • Participate in and lead payments risk related projects, initiatives, working groups or other tasks as assigned to meet team objectives.
  • Support to the Director, Payments Administration, Policy, and Governance and the Chair of the Payments Risk Committee (Payments Risk Executive), in facilitating committee meetings as needed. This role will maintain the committee rolling calendar and agenda, prepare meeting agendas, support the coordination and distribution of meeting materials, and ensure appropriate records of meeting materials and minutes.

Responsibilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Monitor and assess new or amended legal and regulatory requirements as they relate to relevant LOB business processes. Accountable for ensuring that policies & procedures and associated Risk Management programs are consistent with current applicable rules, regulations and laws.   • Work with the LOB to ensure the ongoing development and enhancement of risk assessments, testing, monitoring and associated plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for driving the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Payment Risk Policies and Standards. Will own the establishment of line of business accountability and escalation and reporting processes as it relates to adherence and execution in accordance with policy and standards requirements.
  • Proficient PC skills with experience in Microsoft Office, Outlook and, SharePoint.
  • Provide direction and deliver training to line of business personnel, Risk Management staff and others on regulatory matters, compliance policies and procedures, operational risk best practices and other industry best practices.
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to lines of businesses and senior management, both in writing and verbally.
  • Experience working on initiatives that require strategic planning/thinking.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • 5+ years of policy management experience
  • 10+ years of relevant industry and professional experience (e.g., payments, operational risk management or audit) with a strong focus on governance programs and policy management.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $120,000 to $145,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
