About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking an Operational Risk Director Consumer Operations
In This Role, You Will
  • Influence Operational Risk teams to achieve long-term strategic objectives that impact organization and management across functions
  • Ensure reporting, escalation, and remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding operational risk to leaders, committees, and appropriate executive management
  • Maintain a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency
  • Be accountable for the oversight of the new Consumer Operations unit and responsible for risk aggregation, governance and interaction with the Consumer Operations leader, Consumer Control leader and Business Group Operations Operational Risk Business Aligned Officers (ORBOs)
  • Influence and provide input on policy, framework, and program development for Consumer Operations
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced leaders
  • Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of a risk-based program for Consumer Operations (high risk area) to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or external events
  • Manage the relationship with the Consumer Operations Executive (Operating Committee + 1 level) and the Consumer Controls Executive
  • Provide subject matter expertise and credible challenge as Consumer Operations ORBO. Consumer Operations is one of three key Operations units at Wells Fargo and includes Consumer & Small Business Operations and Consumer Lending Operations
  • Manage communication and collaboration with business heads, Legal, Audit, and regulators on risk related topics
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 8+ years of Operational Risk experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent relationship building ability and gravitas, including collaboration and influencing senior stakeholders across the organization
  • Experience evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls
  • Strong subject matter expertise in operational risk, preferably in a large global banking institution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • Deep subject matter expertise in Consumer Operations
