Job Description

Catholic Health (CH) is an integrated health care delivery system with some of the region's finest health and human services agencies. CH includes six hospitals, three skilled nursing facilities, a regional home nursing service, hospice and a multiservice, community-based agency for persons with special needs. Under the sponsorship of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, CH serves hundreds of thousands of Long Islanders each year, providing care that extends from the beginning of life to helping people live their final years in comfort, grace and dignity.

Position Summary:

The Onboarding Manager will be responsible for managing the onboarding process for each direct hire or practice acquisition including working with the departments who are involved in the process including: Medical staff credentialing, Payor enrollment, Revenue cycle, HR, Marketing, IT, HIM, Quality, Supply Chain.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Once a practice goes live or a physician is hired, manage the transition from the onboarding team to practice operations.
  • Assigning responsibility to practice staff to make sure the new physician is fully practice ready on day one.
  • Establishing expectations for productivity, behavior, culture, and patient care requirements to avoid misunderstandings.
  • Identifying the key professional relationships that need to be put in place so the new physician can practice effectively.
  • Manage the onboarding process to be 120 days at maximum.
  • Develop the orientation curriculum for all direct hires and practices acquired.
  • Improve the satisfaction ratings each year (Make this a KPI such as Physician / CAO satisfaction at some point)
  • Develop, implement, oversee, etc. onboarding / off boarding policies and procedures.
  • Managing the new physician's credentialing, both for medical staff privileges and payers-set dates, and assigning accountability.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and transparent onboarding process so that each member of the leadership team, the physician and departments are aware of where a physician is in the onboarding process.
  • Lead the onboarding kick-off meetings with all new physicians.
  • Measure onboarding satisfaction with providers through pos-go live survey.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Highly experienced in project management, development and facilitation of planning sessions with senior leadership, management and consultants.
  • Five years' experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in a large physician practice, health services or hospital setting.
  • Experience engaging and working in a team environment required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and time management skills
  • Bachelors, Business, Finance, Healthcare management; Masters, Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Public Administration (MPA) or related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience leading practice transition process desired
