Position Summary Perform a wide variety of clerical duties in support of an assigned function; develop and input correspondence and data into a computer terminal; assist and inform the public on departmental policies and procedures and assist with basic sorting, filing, copying and/or clerical accounting activities. Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED; and Two (2) years of clerical experience. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire. Preferred Knowledge
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Basic mathematical principles
- Principles of basic clerical accounting
- Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Principles of cash handling
- Basic office procedures, methods and computer equipment
- Principles and procedures of filing systems
- Principles and procedures of record keeping
- Maintain accurate and complete records
- Learn to interpret and apply City policies and procedures
- Microsoft Office Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Assist in preparing a variety of reports and correspondence
- Perform general clerical work including answering the phone and assisting the general public
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Practices used in minute taking and preparation
