Driver (30 Hours) Jobs

Position Summary
Operate a City vehicle in support of an assigned function including either the pick-up and delivery of items to City departments, the transportation of participants to and from various locations and perform safety checks on assigned vehicles.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
High school diploma or GED; and
One (1) year passenger transportation or delivery experience.
Additional Requirements
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge

• Traffic laws, ordinances and rules
• Operation and maintenance requirements of passenger vehicles
• City streets, boundaries and road ways

Preferred Skills & Abilities

• Operate a City vehicle for the performance of assigned duties
• May pick up supplies or materials and match with authorized purchase documentation.
• Perform daily inspection of vehicles and ensure safety for passengers
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Collect and account for money received
• Communicate clearly and concisely
• Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
• Learn various social services available to participants
