We’re looking for our next attentive Nutrition Data Management Specialist, to join our Nutrition Services Team. Reporting to the Director, Nutrition Services, you’ll be our nutrition data guru who manages the maintenance and integrity of the food, vendor product and nutrient data within the MealSuite system. You will also contribute to our vendor relations initiatives.
A day in the life as Nutrition Data Management Specialist:
  • Food distributors related to the data integrity of the distributor’s vendor products within the MealSuite system
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve customer issues related to product costing and nutrient profiles
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships with food distributors and food manufacturers serving as the subject matter expert in food items, vendor products, and nutrient sources across all vendors and partners within the MealSuite system
  • Propose alternative or improved processes aimed at maintaining an intuitive system to meet the operational needs of MealSuite customers
  • Act as the nutrition data guru by keeping our system up to date with all nutrition details about food items that align with both MealSuite system standards, best practices and industry requirements
  • Act as the liaison between the Nutrition Services team and the Product team regarding the functionality and management of vendor products and nutrient sources
  • Act as the primary contact between MealSuite and:
  • Enhance the processes to identify and prevent manual and automated system errors
  • GDSN partners related to nutrient source data integrity within the MealSuite system
  • Keep up to date of industry standards and regulations that impact system data standards and integrity as it relates to vendor products and nutrient sources and propose solutions to ensure proper change management and continued best practices within the MealSuite system
  • Evaluate current food data to inform decisions on new product additions and appropriateness within the MealSuite system
  • Keep up to date of supply chain issues and trends to potential impacts of customer operations and propose proactive solutions or enhancements to maintain optimal customer operations and best practices within the MealSuite system
  • Manage the integrity of our system by intently monitoring the data
  • Food manufacturers related to the manufacturer’s nutrient data within the MealSuite system
If the below describe your knowledge, experience and character, then this role could be for you:
  • I gained my knowledge through becoming a Registered Dietitian, or through direct and extensive experience with nutrient analysis and evaluation in the healthcare food industry. Bonus points because I have a combination of both!
  • I have knowledge of:
  • I love to be directly involved in projects and initiatives that offer continued learning and endless opportunity to express my ideas and build my leadership skills
  • Broadline food service distributors and vendor product attributes
  • I’m exceptional at diving into the nitty gritty details of data and get pretty excited when I know that the data is up to date, accurate and tracked effectively and efficiently
  • I have 1 + years experience in database and food service management systems
  • I’m willing to occasionally travel and have a valid passport and no travel restrictions that limit my ability to cross the border between Canada and the USA
  • Food commodities and supplies related to food service operations
  • I have experience with Microsoft office applications with proficiency in Excel and GDSN data pool platforms
  • I’m extra passionate about food and food product information. Some may say I’m a bit obsessed with it.
  • Food service purchasing processes and procedures
  • I thrive in an agile environment that is constantly changing and encourages team members to collectively collaborate and communicate
