Position Summary
The Health & Nutrition Specialist’s core responsibilities include developing customer-focused menus, recipes, diet extensions, and texture modification recipes in Ben E. Keith’s menu software platform. Employee will develop and maintain a coordinated focus toward training and technical support for customers including the HIPAA compliant resident/patient preference and nutritional assessment components within the system. Core responsibility of the position includes menu systems production work within eMenuManage® supporting new customer business relationships converted from sales presentations as well as for ongoing customer relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understand the sales process and participate in a collaborative relationship with sales, marketing, purchasing and operations
  • Manage eMenuManage accounts including training and technical support
  • Coordinate and process menu, recipe, nutrition, and production development within eMenuManage® in support of customized customer solutions for commercial and non-commercial accounts
  • Engage with customers one-on-one to assure custom, accurate and complete menu development services and training are provided including diet extensions and texture modifications
  • Represent Ben E. Keith with professionalism at industry shows and conferences
  • Promote product lines to increase sales and account access to target products
  • Provide nutrition information on products and diet restrictions as salesforce or customer inquiries arise
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
  • Provide software technical support and troubleshooting for both commercial and non-commercial customers
Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficient in menu or recipe building software, preferred
  • Skill in providing technical advice and instruction to non-technical staff
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must be able to work successfully in a team environment under tight deadlines
  • Ability to learn and use all Ben E. Keith applications
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, assignments, and tasks, monitoring use of time and providing timely and quality responses
  • Ability to effectively present information to vendors, customers, and employees in a written and/or verbal format
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and communications
  • Must have excellent computer skills and proficient using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Education And/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) to four (4) years of dietetics work experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or Registered Dietitian required
  • Must have knowledge of the federal and state rules and regulations for menus served in long-term care facilities, assisted living, independent communities, acute healthcare, daycare, correction, senior center settings
  • Menu and Diet Extension creation experience, preferred
  • Obtain and maintain ServSafeTM Certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Some travel may be required
