We are seeking a kind and highly-skilled certified nurse-midwife to join our concierge midwifery team. As a CNM, you would provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, including low-risk antepartum, hospital-based intrapartum, and postpartum care. Clinic hours are negotiable and would likely amount to 16-20 hours per week. This is a part-time position that allows you to choose how many birth you want to do each month and also which patients you want on your birth panel. These patients would see you for their prenatal care and you would be the midwife to attend them during their birth. We are proud to be a midwife-owned practice, and also value our strong working relationships with the rest of the healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Counsel and educate patients, including anticipatory guidance, reassurance of normalcy where appropriate, and well-informed consents
- Practice in accordance with the Hallmarks of Midwifery, ACNM Core Competencies, and ACNM Code of Ethics
- Promote patient-centered care, which respects diverse histories, backgrounds, and identities
- Collaborate appropriately with other members of the healthcare team and properly document it.
- Provide labor support, manage labor, recognize and address deviations from normal, respond appropriately to emergencies, and facilitate a safe birthing experience for all
- Anticipate potential health problems based on a patient's identified risk factors
- Use the best evidence, along with good judgment and practice guidelines, to guide the treatment and plan of care for each patient
- Conduct patient record reviews, assessments, and examinations to then accurately identify health problems and needs
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records
- Participate in self-evaluation and peer review
Qualifications:
- Ability to consistently be kind with staff, patients, and colleagues
- Demonstrated reliability and responsibility, with the ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing evidence-based care
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume setting preferred
- Master's or Doctorate degree in nursing
- Adaptability to new software and electronic medical records
- Board certification as a certified nurse-midwife by AMCB
