Job Description

Our publishing house is looking for 10 editors to edit fiction novels. You are responsible for ensuring that books meet the highest standards of quality before they are published.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and syntax
  • Review and revise content written by other authors
  • Coordinate with other editors to ensure consistency throughout the book
  • Maintain an open line of communication with project lead
  • Check chapter titles and ensure proper capitalization and order
  • Ensure that content adheres to the in-house style guide (Chicago Manual of Style) and project stylesheet

Skills and Qualifications:

- Familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style

- A strong grasp of the English grammar

- Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines

- Highly organized and detail-oriented

- Proficient in Microsoft Office
