Night Auditor - The Fifth Avenue Hotel
The Fifth Avenue Hotel is seeking a Night Auditor to join the opening team for the 153 room hotel. Carved out of an oasis of comfort and calm in the middle of bustling Manhattan, mindfully blending personal service, superlative design, distinctive cuisine, compelling art, and engaging cultural experiences. Every aspect of The Fifth Avenue Hotel is tailored to delight, engage and foster curiosity.
As Night Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel during the overnight hours. You will be responsible for performing financial and administrative tasks, reconciling daily transactions, and providing exceptional guest service during the night shift. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently are essential.
Your Focus
- Upselling: Identify opportunities to upsell room upgrades, when available to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue. Recommend additional offerings based on guest preferences and needs.
- Guest Opportunities: Handle guest concerns, or special requests promptly and effectively. Take ownership of resolving issues and finding suitable solutions, collaborating with other hotel departments as necessary. Ensure all concerns from guests are tracked appropriately.
- Flaneur: Create an environment where our guests can experience The Fifth Avenue Hotel in the way of a flaneur, where every detail is curated, tells a story and leaves a lasting impression
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Guest Loyalty and Recognition: Recognize and acknowledge repeat guests and VIP’s. Offer personalized surprise and delight moments when possible and appropriate.
- Service Collaboration: Liaise with various hotel departments, including butler, housekeeping, guest services, food and beverage and engineering to coordinate guest services and ensure seamless delivery. Communicate guest requirements and preferences to relevant teams.
- Guest Service: Serve as the main point of contact for guests during the overnight hours, ensuring their needs are met and inquiries are handled promptly and professionally. Assist with guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a smooth process.
- Nightly Audit: Conduct the nightly audits of the hotel's systems.
- Nightly Reports: Prepare and distribute accurate and timely reports. Complete end-of-shift reports and distribute them to the appropriate departments.
- Security and Safety: Monitor the hotel’s public areas to ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff. Respond to emergencies or incidents that may occur by involving the security team where necessary.
- Payments and Financial Transactions: Handle guest payments, process credit card transactions, and maintain accurate records of financial transactions. Follow hotel policies and procedures for handling cash, billing, and guest folios.
- Five Star Experience: Ensure a five star (and beyond) luxury level of service and hospitality is delivered to all who come to experience The Fifth.
Position Requirements:
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel front desk or night audit role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize effectively.
Work Environment and Context
- Work schedule varies and will include working on holidays, weekends and the overnight shift.
- Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching.
