POSITION OVERVIEW:

Develop, sell, and implement retailer specific merchandising programs short term and long term. Directly responsible for revenue and margin of assigned accounts.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for negotiating and maintaining cooperative advertising allowances for assigned accounts. Review contract data and manage accruals and assigned promotional budget. Reconcile advertising accrual and promotional funds monthly.
  • Responsible for implementation of MAP policy and meeting timelines as stated within the policy.
  • Attend Planning meetings with customers for all key retail periods (annual and promotional ).
  • Follow up on the status of customer orders daily to ensure that their needs and timelines are met. Ensure that any shipping issues are resolved. Work with internal support teams to manage shipping, compliance and proper inventory planning and fulfillment.
  • Assumes leadership role when working on group projects across divisions.
  • Communicate with The Legacy Companies employees and retail customers in a professional, positive and timely manner.
  • Internally analyze The Legacy Companies’ revenue and margin performance against plan and create action plan where appropriate.
  • Periodic visits to retail stores to ensure adequate and proper display of product.
  • Keep abreast of digital marketplace, pricing, customer strategy as related to drop ship, warehouse, flash, brick & mortar, and Omni channel retail trends.
  • Periodic site and product detail page review for all assigned accounts to ensure The Legacy Companies brands are properly represented.
  • All other related duties as directed by sales management.
  • Gathers competitive marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc. and makes recommendations accordingly.
  • Initiates consistent contact with key internal stakeholders to review current trend and customer needs.
  • Actively work with internal Demand Planning team to submit up-to-date monthly S&OP Forecasts – leverage customer data (POS, Buy Forecasts, etc.).
  • Prospect business opportunities for new and current customers. Take ownership of the internal set up process and work with various departments to ensure a timely business launch.
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly planning calls between key accounts.
  • Must be able to oversee and manage external sales agents in field for assigned accounts
  • Attend meetings with the appropriate sales management throughout the year. Maintains regular communication via email and phone.
  • Analyze retail and wholesale product sales and review with customer to identify opportunities and understand performance versus competitors and customers overall business.
  • Attend major trade shows each year and assists with the booth set up and breakdown as requested.
  • Maintains regular contact by phone, email, and in-person with assigned accounts to discuss and evaluate program strategies, marketing plans and promotional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on the creation of customer presentations.
  • Cultivate business relationships with buyer, support staff and retailer management.
  • Proactively shares people, resources, best practices, and processes across The Legacy Companies.
  • Resolve accounting issues with accounts regarding unidentified deductions, co-op expenditures, pricing, etc.
  • Manage business expenses in a responsible and timely manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be detail oriented and possess time management skills.
  • Must be able to work with and develop a relationship with the account buyer and other management personnel.
  • Must possess superior decision-making capacity and ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with The Legacy Companies employees and retail customers on a continuous basis.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both in verbal and written formats.
  • Must possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to travel for meetings, account visits and industry shows as necessary
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities to perform the job duties.
  • Must be able to present products, programs, and ideas to potential buyer of The Legacy Companies product.
  • Must possess strong negotiating skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales environment. Knowledge of Appliance industry preferred .
  • Must maintain a current knowledge and understanding of The Legacy Companies products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet-based platforms, and e-mail required
  • Ability to work from a Home office required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed primarily indoors. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e., computer, laptop, telephone, printer, copy machine, and cellular phone, marketing products i.e., product samples. Individual in this position will be exposed to poor road and weather conditions. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands, driving cars, bending over, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, fine dexterity and lifting to 50 lbs. Hours and days are primarily Monday through Friday with some overtime and weekends required. Individual in this position will be required to drive to visit customers and will also travel extensively (min 50% travel). Position requires close contact with The Legacy Companies employees and retail customer
