Job Description

Founded in 2019 and rebranded in2022, Intersect Magazine is aneditorial-driven digital publicationwith a new perspective on culture. We are seeking an enthusiastic Music Intern to join our team.


Please note that this is an UNPAID INTERNSHIP FOR COLLEGE CREDIT. If you are seeking a paid internship opportunity, please do not apply.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct consistent outreach to musicians' press teams and management
  • Write album and single reviews for popular releases
  • Maintain an organized database of musicians to feature
  • Research musicians in the Pop, Alternative, Hip-Hop, and R&B spaces that would be a good fit for Intersect to feature
  • Coordinate interviews with musicians with the possibility of conducting them yourself after a while
  • Curate consistent edits of must-listen new music releases


Qualifications

  • Journalism/Communications majors are preferred
  • Strong familiarity with the music industry
  • Scrappy and resourceful research skills
  • Ability to work diligently in a remote environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
