Job Summary:
Maintains responsibility for clinical learning management and career development across multiple sites. Collaborates with system leaders to develop, implement and evaluate plans for meeting the educational needs of the organization's associates. Assumes responsibility for leadership development training to ensure delivery of education aligns with strategic goals/objectives around service, quality, safety, professional practice, regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Seven years' technical experience: Preferred
- Five years' leadership experience and Five years' experience in the areas of teaching complex curriculum design, development and education: Preferred
- Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing, as applicable: Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing/clinical profession or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
Licenses/Certifications:
- Specialty certification: Preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice: Required
Essential Functions:
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Oversees the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program.
- Leads department(s) activities through managers and supervisors, including full human resources, cost and financial accountability. Establishes operational objectives for the department including work plans and delegating assignments to team.
- Leads across multiple sites with an operational focus, setting strategy, objectives and policies. Works with management to define people development needs in order to meet strategic goals and objectives. Oversees the development of evidence based patient care standards and a competency assessment system.
- Maintains the Learning Management System across all assigned sites. Assumes responsibility for comprehensive nursing orientation program and nursing competencies. Mentors and supports site education teams in preparing/delivering educational presentations, writing for publication and developing /presenting poster or podium presentations.
- Works with educators in setting training priorities and development of processes for training methodologies at sites. Recommends training delivery methods and identifies budget to deliver them. Collaborates with system leaders on planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
