Job Description

Our MRI Tech Aide is responsible for providing support to the MRI technician. The Tech Aide prepares patients for MRI examinations by greeting, screening, changing, completing and reviewing paperwork as well as assisting the MRI Tech with patient transfers, positioning and MRI room cleanliness.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Brings patients to MRI room and escorts patient back to changing room.
  • Compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of MRI safety protocols
  • Assist in maintaining an on-time patient schedule.
  • Understands provider’s orders and requests.
  • Performs detailed pre-procedure patient screenings for MRI Safety
  • Assures a clean, stocked work area by maintaining MRI rooms, workstations, and break areas.
  • Preparing patients for MRI procedures - changed into gowns/shorts, shoes and jewelry removed.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Pertinent job-related experience and Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Regulations
  • Discretion to work with confidential information
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to converse and hear.
  • Requires normal (corrected) vision.
  • Requires coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment
  • Requires mobility, frequent walking, standing, and sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching and periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Position Type and E xpected Hours of Work:

This position can either be full time or Per Diem based on business needs
