Summary This entry level position implements the activities which support the daily schedule of the facility. In addition, this position supervises and interacts with participants, observes and addresses participant behavior, and documents services in participant files. This position provides direct services to youth in a structured setting while supporting facilitators. Learns, uses and models principles of the "What Works" system through evidence-based practices in all interactions with participants and other staff members. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills may be required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience working with minority populations preferred.
  • May facilitate orientation and psycho-educational/behavior modification groups on a daily basis. Documents participants' attendance, participation and progress in Company database.
  • Observes participant behavior and redirects appropriately.
  • Implements and supports the company's mission and philosophy; follows the company's policies on professional expectations, code of conduct, and other practices and procedures.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates effort in professional development.
  • Maintains regular communication with supervisor and co-workers.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to react quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements
  • Processes intakes and screens participants according to program policy.

  • Solid computer skills and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrates appropriate use of participant intervention skills
  • Two (2) years college coursework in Human Services or Criminal Justice discipline preferred.
  • Facilitates and documents various groups or meetings.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in performance of job.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience in Human Services field with direct services preferred.
  • Interacts with and supervises participants during daily activities in a manner that ensures their safety and security.
