HORNE will perform FEMA PA program management and compliance monitoring for a sediment removal project east of Santa Maria, CA. In this role, HORNE will oversee field operations (hired separately by our contracting partner) and collect FEMA PA reimbursement information and reporting information to seek reimbursement of project activities.
Overview of the Position:
The Debris Monitor will monitor and observe the contracting partner to ensure compliance with agreed upon work including sediment removal, weight, transportation, and appropriate disposal.
Salary Range:
$55,000.00-$68,000.00
Responsibilities:
- Candidate will be responsible for use of technology provided by the project team to record location of sediment removal, weight of sediment removed after trucks are weighed, and record location of disposal on the temporary debris management site.
- Ability to learn and understand the FEMA debris removal and public assistance requirements.
- Observe sediment removal operations from the water or from land, observe the transfer of removed sediment from barge to vehicles to stage/spread/dispose of sediment on adjacent properties in accordance with land use agreement and approved permits.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a construction environment preferred
- Ability to be onsite 100% of the time during the designated construction period (Monday through Friday). Work site location is the Santa Maria Valley Water Conservation District - Twitchell Dam and Reservoir
- Associates Degree preferred, High School Degree required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- 1+ years professional experience
- Ability to work outside and on a boat over water around heavy machinery
- Must have the ability to operate as a team member, take direction, and work with and among construction crews.
- Ability to use technology such as a computer, tablet, ipad or smartphone
