JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Performs phlebotomy as needed. Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. Understands the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for correction of procedural / instrument issues. Responsible for teaching, training and mentoring.
EDUCATION:
MLS: Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry. Medical Laboratory Scientist certified or certified in the field. If certificate qualified, certification to occur within 1 year of hire.
MLT: Associate's degree in Medical Technology or laboratory science. Certified CLA or MLT. Eligible for certification in the field, certification must be complete with 1 year of hire date.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum experience – MLS internship completed.
SALARY NOTE:
Salary range will be determined based upon position hired into, education level and experience. Posted range is for the MLS II position.

May be eligible for up to a $10,000 Sign on Bonus! Current employees of the UVM Medical Center and partner hospitals are not eligible for this bonus. Additional terms and conditions apply.
