Job Description
Position Summary / Job Purpose
Based in Miami, FL and reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Excellence, the Manager position is 100% focused on supporting the Food & Beverage’s Win on Waste (WOW) initiative. This position is project-based and responsible for the success of the development, deployment, maintenance and optimization of all food waste processes, systems, practices and people. This position requires the ability to direct cross-functional teams that conceptualize and build a predictive, artificially intelligent Food Production Management System (FPMS) and all associated operational changes that will continue to foster Royal Caribbean International’s culture of data-driven product thinking and innovation. The Manager will be a curious individual who actively seeks out ways to improve the F&B operation with regards to food waste and production. They will act as the face and voice of the Win on Waste.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides proactive thought leadership to identify, test and validate a variety of food waste-related products, programs, vendors/partners to keep the team up-to-speed and continually evolve our mission.
  • Some travel required.
  • Partners with the IT team and various other business partners, product owners and peers to deliver a ground-up high-quality solution on schedule and within budget.
  • Manages training, equipment, communication, data and reporting, and budgets related to food waste initiatives to continuously meet the company’s long-term marketability and profitability goals.
  • Builds meaningful relationships with crew members and acts as a shoreside supervisor to the FOEC. Maintains constant communication with onboard teams to ensure the solutions are user-friendly and delivering consistent positive results (KPIs) across the entire fleet.
  • Guides the change in culture shipboard and shoreside to be more sustainable in our food production.
  • Develops concepts that directly respond to insights gained from a strong understanding of fleetwide F&B operations.
  • Leads discussions and share insights with executives on project progress.
  • Tests and conducts sign-off on all IT work for accuracy whilst keeping in mind the usability for the operation.
  • Champions the Win on Waste initiative.
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to grasp the complexities of the business to effectively translate that into a strategy
  • 5-6 years business, product, or operations experience
  • Ability to apply strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking
  • Willingness to take personal initiative
  • Effective decision-making skills & highly successful in problem-solving
  • Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at the senior most executive levels of a company
  • 2-4 years of experience with restaurant, accounting, or inventory systems management
  • Highly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced work environment managing multiple projects
  • Deep knowledge and extensive track record in leading teams in the development of solutions & concepts
  • Experience developing strategic framework
  • Knowledge of the SCRUM/Agile development methodology preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Ability to assemble, lead and influence cross functional teams to develop strategies that include input and buy-in from all stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and follow-through
  • 5-6 years of experience in Food & Beverage preferred

Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, write, review and review recipes and manage databases and operate the computer. The employee communicates, listens, compares variables, and assesses information. The employee regularly moves about the office complex, and may climb, descend, lift or move 10 lbs.
