Mentor- Part-Time Jobs

Program Overview: Keeping Families Together (KFT) provides both short and long-term supportive housing for high-risk families who have a current or ongoing history of homelessness, which children at risk of removal or soon to be reunified. The program provides housing resource specialty, case management, therapy, and support groups to families who receive either a program-based or rental assistance voucher.

Job Function: Engage with parents, youth, and families. Assist families to make a successful transition to self-sufficient living and improved individual and family stability by mentoring children through scheduled community/in-home activities, positive relationship building, groups, and strength-based coaching, both formal and informal. Mentors will work collaboratively with other KFT team members.

Program Quality Requirements

• Follows program policies and procedures and encourages same in others.
• Operates conscientiously in accordance with program budget (i.e., use of client engaging funds, office supplies).
• Plays an active role in meetings and training designed to enhance agency and program operations.
• Educates self on issues impacting the program population.
• Submits Level of Service (LOS) within program requirements.
• Attends agency and program meetings and training within established time frames.
• Meets obligations of program (contractual, licensing, Medicaid, etc.).
• Completes and submits accurate written reports and documentation per established guidelines.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of written and verbal communications.

Client Interaction Requirements

• Effectively engages all client populations.
• Upholds ethical standards in accordance with the Social Work Code of Ethics.
• Provides culturally competent service delivery.
• Continually assesses clients' needs.
• Provides appropriate intervention strategies and adjusts services accordingly.

To qualify for this job you need to have the below minimum requirements and experience:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle and an acceptable driving record.
• Experience working with children and youth preferred.

• Must regularly be able to see, speak and hear. Frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, use hands and arms and must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Assume an active role in agency events.
