Mental Health Therapist (Now Clinic)

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing therapy to patients in need of mental health services with rapid access to care through models of engagement and delivery of evidence based practices. Participates in the evaluation and treatment of patients while working towards encouraging participation with ongoing mental health care decisions and services as appropriate.

Job Duties:

• Supervises student interns, and coordinates with students’ home institutions.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Participates in training activities, interdisciplinary meetings, and client staffing as required.
• Provides care by evaluating and providing diagnostic impressions and treatment.
• Collaborates with project coordinators and administrative assistants to coordinate patient visits.
• Monitors patients for suicidal/homicidal intent and ensures patient safety if necessary.
• Primary duty is providing individual and group counseling to adolescents.
• Coordinates with referring physicians, individuals, and family members throughout the treatment and performs crisis intervention as needed.

Education:

A Master's degree with major coursework in the field of assignment is required. Experience cannot be substituted for a degree.

Experience:

Three (3) years of related experience is required.

Additional Licenses and Certifications:

LPC or LCSW License is required. A license to practice mental health counseling independently in the State of Texas is required.

Supervisory Requirements:

Has the authority to direct the work of others, may provide recommendations as to the hiring of new employees.
