Qualifications And Skills

• Bilingual; Spanish and English preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current State Pharmacy Tech. Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Reviews provider list of appointments at least 48 hours prior, look for any last-minute additions to the schedule, review chart and follow normal process described above.
• Makes a note of reason of cancelation, for example: “notes/result not available, authorized by provider and patient”.
• Checks insurance eligibility of all patients coming to see PCP or APRN before reviewing medical record.
• Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Maintains the confidentiality of all records.
• Examines patient medical records for completeness ensuring all required specialist note, diagnostics results are included.
• May cancel a patient’s appointment if a diagnostic test or specialist note is not ready and will not be available at time of visit; physician’s approval is necessary. Chart reviewer must call the patient to cancel appointment, if patient still wants to see provider, do not cancel appointment and notify provider.
