Job Description

:

This position will use a variety of data sources to create de-identified summaries of the pertinent medical history and events surrounding the deaths of Pennsylvania residents that were pregnant or had been pregnant in the year prior to their death.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between ERASE MM program and area facilities.
  • Collect/request records from hospitals, clinics, coroners/medical examiners, police, department of transportation, clinics, etc.
  • Work towards the establishment of remote access to medical records.
  • Collect data on pregnancy associated deaths and request records for review.
  • Generate and compile reports, as necessary.
  • Abstract demographic, diagnostic, clinical, epidemiologic, and administrative data from all records into a computerized case record.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of all record types.

Required Skills:

  • 1+ year of experience with clinical knowledge, interpreting medical records, entering data accurately.
  • General computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication (written/verbal) skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience as a clinical research coordinator or work in maternal mortality review, health-related registries, including cancer, fetal/infant mortality review, etc.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of maternal health issues, including clinical and social determinants.
