Job Description
Our client, a leading full-service marketing agency, is looking for a Media Specialist (media buyer and planner). This person will be responsible for developing, executing, and managing buys across all traditional mediums. You should be well-versed in media buying best practices and know how to effectively negotiate, manage buys, and track budgets. This Associate level position is fully remote.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor media buys to ensure all brand safety, ad fraud, and viewability standards are met or exceeded
  • Develop, execute, manage, and report on media buys across all traditional mediums, including TV, Radio, Cable, Print, & Outdoor, etc.
  • Find and present new innovative ideas to clients / Experiment with new platforms
  • Oversee any buys that are being handled by coordinators (i.e., Print, OOH, etc.)
  • Determining appropriate TV programs, radio stations, print, OOH and negotiate rates, ad space and airtime
  • Research and record trends, innovations, and changes that affect media buying
  • Preparation of insertion orders and placement of advertising with media vendors, as applicable
  • Monitor media for pacing, delivery, placement, and flight date discrepancies and negotiates credit or billing adjustments when necessary
  • Monitor costs/Track budgets and re-allocate as necessary
  • Manage media agreements and contracts with outside media vendors
Qualifications
  • Media-related / agency experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • You build great relationships with vendors and reps
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, or communications preferred
  • Experience buying through Strata (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of local / spot market media planning / buying
  • Strong negotiation skills and successful track record in the media buying space
  • Establish trust and credibility with clients and vendors
  • Media buying experience
