Summary:
Mariners media assistants serve as game day assistants to the Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting. This is a part-time, game day only position, which touches upon aspects of social media, media relations, broadcasting, and sports information. This position provides a strong opportunity for someone looking to break into the world of sports media.

Responsibilities:

• Assist media with postgame player interviews
• Assist with set up and tear down of media room & press box
• Operate team Twitter/X account during games, home and away
• Cut highlights for real-time tweeting and postgame reel
• Deliver game notes and player ticket sheets
• Potential responsibilities, based on proficiency: write game story, provide color commentary on broadcast
• Oversee GoPro cameras (mount, start/stop, and switch batteries)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have strong knowledge of the game of hockey, its rules, and terminology
• Must have previous experience using Twitter/X and understanding of tone/language that comes with posting from a team account
• Must be available for a majority of home and away games (nights/weekends)
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop preferred
