Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures compliance with specifications, procedures and plans
  • Notify management of any discrepancies found
  • Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
  • Notifies supervisors of any discrepancies found between work completed and material installed and owner or client quality requirements.
  • Inspect the production quality to establish requirements are being met
  • Performs field in-process welding inspections.
  • Assists in in the processing of installation procedures.
  • Verify work is in place according to drawing and specifications
  • Provide support and training to the personnel in relation to the project quality
  • Reviews engineering drawings and tracks quality progress based on scope of work
  • Monitor and report progress against inspection and test plan
  • Performs special processes and field installation inspections and surveillance, of equipment and materials.
  • Record and document any and all deviations from plans
  • Updates and maintains Quality Control files and documentation


Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or the ability to obtain upon hire
  • Post Job Offer Requirements:
    • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test
    • Alaska North Slope locations only: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination
  • Alaska North Slope locations only: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination
  • MECHANICAL QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR:
    • Must be a current AWS Certified Welding Inspector.
    • Upholds current Welding Inspector certification.
  • Upholds current Welding Inspector certification.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Bachelor degree in Engineering field or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Work Experience:
    • MECHANICAL QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR: Two (2) to four (4) years of engineering and quality control experience. Relevant mechanical experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver License – Clean driving record
  • Must be a current AWS Certified Welding Inspector.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test
  • MECHANICAL QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR: Two (2) to four (4) years of engineering and quality control experience. Relevant mechanical experience preferred.
  • License/Certifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications
  • Ability to make decisions and recommend appropriate course of action in difficult situations
  • Ability to maintain positive attitude during difficult situations
  • Comprehensive Knowledge of Quality Control processes, procedures, standards and specifications
  • Knowledge and experience with power tools, testing equipment, test lamps, measuring devices, power construction equipment
  • Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.
  • Able to represent Delta Constructors in a professional manner and negotiate favorably with key members of the other firms and agencies.
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor with clients
  • Ability to communicate effectively as a supervisor both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communications in a professional demeanor.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Computer Systems
  • Ability to set and balance priorities in order to complete projects on time
  • Ability to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown and correct the problem or recommend solution
