This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op you will be responsible for:

  • Communicate technical and commercial issues to others within mechanical engineering and/ or other functional departments
  • Create purchase requests to order components for validation
  • Validate components designed by intern or others within the department
  • Product life cycle management:
    • Complete material specification and schematic preparation, follow up to ensure proper and effective implementation
    • Perform testing of new designs and modifications of solutions
    • Communicate technical and commercial issues to others within mechanical engineering and/ or other functional departments
  • Perform testing of new designs and modifications of solutions

  • Communicate validation process and results
  • Solid modeling for medical device design:
    • Create concept recommendations for new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements
    • Utilize 3D CAD software to model concepts and/ or design changes, producing solid models and drawings that can be released to production
    • Explain and clarify information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of specifications, performance characteristics, or other technical data

This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers

  • You will be working with our latest technology and therefore you are willing to learn about new software and hardware solutions
  • You have good PC skills (MS Office software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program (minimum rising junior preferred)
  • Preferred 3.0 GPA
  • Minimum work timeframe is semester plus. (for example, spring semester through summer (January through August) or summer through fall semester (May through December)
  • Mechanical Engineering Majors preferred
