We are seeking a highly motivated, Mechanical Engineer for our Ashville, NY in-person office. The position will fulfill a key role in HEIDENHAIN’s Engineering team working in projects that support our current and next generation of products by contributing to the design, testing, releasing and support of products You are a people person with the ability to interface and collaborate

WHO YOU ARE

• You are an experienced Engineer with proven record of mechanical engineering and a strong knowledge of 3D CAD.
• You have advanced knowledge of 3D CAD tools – Creo, SolidWorks and a working knowledge of 3D CAD tools – Creo, SolidWorks
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and interact effectively with other team members. Your strong organization and communication skills will contribute to your success.
• You have familiarity with typical manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fab, metal casting, and injection molding.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design mechanical tooling and fixtures for testing
• Provide scheduling and status information, including presentations to the Engineering team and other departments
• Develop technical specifications
• Participate in defining project goals
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
• Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration
• Design mechanical components and assemblies for products
• Ensure project timelines are met and project stays within budget

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology
• Minimum of 5 years Mechanical Engineering experience
