SUMMARY
The Mechanic Lead is a vital member of the LTII Maintenance teams. The primary duty of the Mechanic Lead is to oversee the daily operation of the shop and serve as point on the inspection, repair and maintenance of our fleet of trucks, trailers and shop vehicles while observing all company safety and regulatory policies. The Mechanic Lead works in close collaboration with Operations and other Maintenance Managers, Mechanics, and Maintenance Assistants, as well as our Drivers, Wash Bay Staff, and Yard Crew.
What You’ll Do

• Ability to perform accurate diagnosis and repair of most Truck, Tanker & Trailer system.
• Consistently perform all Truck, Tanker & Trailer maintenance as defined by LTII requirements.
• Completes job work orders using company maintenance software system, recording materials used, type of work accomplished, maintenance system codes, and inventories.
• Able to adapt to changes in job priorities quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to use all general shop tooling including welder, grinders, drill press, etc.…
• Employee must demonstrate the ability to lead and work within a Team environment.
• Responsible for the quality control of all shop repairs and safe operation of equipment.
• Proficient in Class 8 electrical system diagnosis and understanding of schematics.

QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience in Class 8 trucks, trailers, tankers and support equipment. Previous dealership experience preferred. Commercial drivers license (CDL A) preferred. 2-year technical school graduate preferred with an emphasis on Class 8 trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, or automotive. Employee must have own tools. Computer literacy and experience with CUMMINS INSITE and PACCAR DAVIE software preferred.
