This includes inspecting busses for safety and reliability, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical problems, and ensuring that all repairs are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Lead Mechanic is also responsible for training and supervising other mechanics, and for ensuring that all safety regulations are followed.
