SHR Talent is partnering with a globally recognized manufacturing organization in its search for an experienced Materials Manager. The Materials Manager role is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join a dynamic team and play a pivotal role in optimizing the organization's supply chain and materials management processes. As the Materials Manager, you will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all materials-related activities as well as leverage your expertise by optimizing inventory levels, streamlining procurement processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
An ideal candidate for the Materials Manager role will possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills and an analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient material flow and timely availability
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to adapt materials strategies and stay ahead of competition
- Collaborate with senior management to provide regular materials-related performance reports and strategic recommendations
- Develop and execute materials management strategies that align with overall business objectives and ensure seamless production operations
- Implement advanced supply chain technologies and software to enhance visibility, accuracy, and automation in materials management processes
- Identify and assess potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and build strong supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality materials sourcing
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of materials professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence
- Drive sustainability initiatives by promoting environmentally responsible materials sourcing and waste reduction practices
- Oversee inventory management, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of proven experience in materials management within a manufacturing or related industry
- Proficiency in supply chain software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Master's degree, preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory control, demand forecasting, procurement, and logistics processes
- Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in materials management, a plus
