Job Description
The purpose of the Museum Curator is to provide the highest level of effective and efficient support to the functioning of the Mars Museum and supporting the communication of the Mars, Incorporated story to all associates.


What are we looking for?


  • 10+ years of museum-related managerial experience required
  • Masters of Arts degree required
  • Ability to collaborate with outside experts in the determination of presenting the Museum’s artefacts in the most effective and engaging manner.
  • Ability to date and preserve historical artifacts as well as managerial skills to effectively oversee the Mars Museum Team in the preservation and display of historical artifacts.
  • Ability to interact effectively with those individuals/entities with whom the Curator and the Mars Museum Team comes into contact, both internal and external.


What will be your key responsibilities?


  • Manage and supervise all Mars Museum Team Members and assign/oversee their responsibilities.
  • Manage and supervise the selection of objects for display and ensure the provenance of these artifacts is preserved and conveyed.
  • Manage the Museum Coordinator’s research and responses to queries from both internal and approved external entities using Museum resources, including queries from the media relations and legal team.
  • Manage the protocols for filing, storing and accurate inventorying of all artifacts and files related to the history of Mars, Incorporated.
  • Manage the Mars Museum website content, modifications and additions following agreed protocols.
  • Manage and direct the research of Mars history and ensure validation/verification of information related to this history.
  • Establish an Accession Policy and Collections Management Plan to support the operational needs of the Mars Museum and the ongoing record and preservation of the Mars, Incorporated story.
  • Manage the design and provision of a facility to display and interpret artifacts related to Mars history, trademarks, advertising, sites, products, brands, etc., to both internal and approved external entities.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging Museum narratives that leverage Museum collections, including artifacts and archival material.
  • Liaise and troubleshoot with technology associates to upgrade and maintain Mars Museum systems.
  • Ensure the management of a Corporate system requiring the capture of historically significant artifacts and events from all sites/units.
  • Liaise with Mars Family members regarding their desired priorities for the Museum.
  • Consult with a wider team on the provision of a facility to collect and effectively preserve those artifacts related to the history of Mars, Incorporated, liaising with Mars stakeholders and the design team to curate the exhibits. Ensure the conservation of the artifacts through appropriate care and coordination with conservators.
