Job Description
Overview:
Mission Statement of SDSU Alumni: Enhance and grow the engagement and interaction all alumni and students to the fullest extent, tailoring opportunities to best fit interests in time, talent, and treasure and
meaningfully benefitting students, alumni, and the university.

Vision Statement: To forge beneficial and measurable lifetime relations between all Aztecs
and the University.

This position supports the Director of Marketing with executing marketing and communications strategies of the SDSU Alumni office.
Responsibilities:
SDSU Alumni is searching for a creative, solutions-oriented student with experience and interest in marketing and social media to join the team. The Marketing Student Assistant will report directly to the Director of Marketing to support the SDSU Alumni office and its staff in several ways.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Social Media - 40%
  • Help execute SDSU Alumni's social media strategy through content and community management
  • Organize social media content calendar for SDSU Alumni and work with SDSU Alumni Engagement Officers to support Aztec Proud accounts

Marketing, Communications & Promotional Support - 30%
  • Assist in developing story ideas and writting blog content for the SDSU Alumni website
  • Support the SDSU Alumni office with promotion of special events, campaigns and giveaways to key audiences
  • Help contribute and provide support for the communications content calendar
  • Assist in writing copy, creating images and emails for SDSU Alumni's promotional campaigns

Graphic Design - 20%
  • Work with Director of Marketing to create graphics in Canva to promote campaigns, special offers, eNewsletter and other key priorities
  • Edit and crop images for use on website and in email templates

Other Duties as Assigned - 10%
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing
Qualifications:
Minimum Education
  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at SDSU
Minimum Experience
  • None
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience creating content for Social Media platforms including Instagram and TikTok
  • Experience using Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, or comparable software
  • Understanding of basic marketing and/or communications principles
