The Headlines
In the Marketing Manager - Innovation role working in Chicago, IL, you’ll be an architect building brands at Molson Coors, which means shaping American culture and changing how America enjoys beverages.
You’ll oversee and lead high-performance innovation projects designed to help achieve the company’s growth targets for Molson Coors’ brands. This position develops new product and/or packaging ideas and innovations mainly for our Above Premium Beer portfolio, managing them from ideas to getting winning propositions into the market.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing - Innovation and works closely with internal and external stakeholders in creating new innovations from concept to completion.
The Responsibilities
  • As a strong strategic thinker, you will play a pivotal role in innovation analysis work – including tracking volume, retail data, and competitive insights.
  • Develop, ideate, and build white space opportunities that align with Molson Coors’ portfolio strategy.
  • Provide clear direction regarding strategy and execution and ensure the project teams stay on track.
  • You will ensure that the innovation plan and the activities surrounding it seamlessly integrate with other cross-functional areas in the company.
  • You will manage, orchestrate, and delegate all the elements of the innovation program, including each successive component of the stage gate process.
  • Work with sales operations and distributor sales organization to build compelling commercial cases for innovations projects.
  • You will attract, lead, manage, and mentor employees in a way that ensures retention, development, and superior performance.
  • Partner with relevant brand teams and partners to deliver strategic innovation that enhances brand performance in the market.
The Other Qualifications
  • Even though you’re near the top of the totem pole, you still have a strong intellectual curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for learning.
  • You have an innate ability to build empathy with consumers, particularly with the next generation of drinkers and diverse consumers.
  • You operate with a general manager mindset and always approach your work as an owner of the business.
  • Working knowledge of the 3-tier distribution system, current retail dynamics, and trends.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business is preferred but not required. MBA Preferred.
  • Experience in managing the creative process with agency partners and integrating insights.
  • You have a proven track record when it comes to leading commercial projects and/or new product development and stage gate process.
  • 5+ years of previous marketing experience with high-profile CPG brands, ideally in product/packaging development and innovation
  • Experience conducting financial and business analysis and retrieving and analyzing data.
