Manufacturing Technician - 2nd Shift

Position Summary:

Catalent Pharma Solutions is Chelsea, MA is hiring a Manufacturing Technician. The Manufacturing Technician assists in the performance of routine operations for the GMP production of pharmaceutical products. This individual operates in accordance with environmental, health, safety, and cGMP guidelines. The Manufacturing Technician executes production activities under direct supervision for spray drying, capsule filling, and blister packaging operations.

This is a full-time hourly position: Monday - Friday, 2:30pm - 10:30pm (2nd Shift)

This 90,000 square-foot Boston-area facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America.

The Role

• Receives and distributes supplies in the manufacturing area.
• Performs Clean-In-Place, Clean-Out-of-Place, and equipment sterilization as required.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Operates and monitors manufacturing equipment for the production of clinical and commercial pharmaceutical products.
• Performs final packaging and inspection of pharmaceutical products.
• Assists in the execution of routine and complex production processes.

The Candidate

• May require adjustment to a shift schedule as manufacturing objectives change.
• Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment.
• Requires physical activity such as standing for long periods of time, walking, and working with hands.
• Familiarity with executing Standard Operating Procedures in a manufacturing or assembling environment preferred
• A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to work in a controlled or clean room environment requiring special gowning.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as necessary.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, preferably the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Critical understanding of the importance of documentation and data traceability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must demonstrate appropriate safety consciousness.
• Demonstrates attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to work safely and conscientiously in a manufacturing environment.
• This position requires minimum travel. Average travel for this position is less than 5% with some variation based upon the demands of the business imperative
• Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Some weekends or holidays may be required.
